Unfortunately, it also has a plastic stock. Still, it only took me 1/2 hr to fit Tanaka K98 guts into a real-deal stock, so i bet this one can be done in a couple of minutes with a bit of Dremeling.

Still, it may be shell fed, but a couple just for set dressing would be cool (entire rack of K98's in a rack would look sweeeeeeeet)

edit

Think RSOV has messed up with the description, it's most likely gas, not spring.

double edit

£39. 99 - im gonna get a few in i think. In fact, its worth it just to use the parts for VSR-10 conversions.

triple edit

Could possibly be spring, I do remember a couple of *very* old rifles that cocked the spring when you pushed the bolt forwards. Needless to say, cocking it this way (i.e forwards against your supporting hand, not back against your shoulder) made it quite weird (and not as easy) to cock.

Dunno, that would be very cheap for a gas gun. There was a chinese SKS springer which also used cartridges, why on earth they do that instead of sticking to normal BB feed is frustrating.

Well, its the same price as the AGM MP40's on there, and AEG's are vastly more complicated to put together than a simple bolt-action gas gun.

This is great news, i'm not too bothered about it being plastic (though admit a wood kit would be the main priority after purchase). I was hoping for a spring powered rifle (assuming RSOV made a mistake as Kermit pointed out), but you can't have it all I guess and at that price i'll probably buy one!

Wow! It would look pretty good if you replaced the crappy placco stock with a real one. Also, VERY cheap parts for a VSR/MP001 conversion! Pity about the difficulty importing weapons. I wonder if a UK retailer would stock them?

Zero one stock the AGM MP-001 now, recon you could ask them, or Paul from Action Hobbys, he has a huge range of Chineese stuff,

Absolutely right. One of the reasons why I haven't bought from the UK for some time now.

THe prob now is that long boxes from the far east are more likely to get stoped by customs, I have had over 20 RIFs from the far east over the last 2 years, only 3 have been stopped, the last 3, all in September this year, bung on the customs / handling charge & the savings are reduced,

just looked on Gunners site and this is the description he's got;

Spring Powered Kar 98K from Dboys, comes with 5 cartridges, It has a different action (push cocking) than most of the Spring rifles in the market (pull cocking), power will be around 350-370 fps with average accuracy.

I worked out that from gunner it'll cost you just under £70 with shipping and about an extra £27-28 for duty, tax and handling charges so £97-98 all in.

I`d heard a while back that the chinese had tried to turn the Tanaka 98 into a springer but had hit problems, which would explain why they went for an earlier non gas model, just a shame about the cartridges :?

like a brick through a window. aye.

must make a mental note to shoot you in the arse especially next game :P :rasp:

been contemplating a german getup for a while now as I think it'd be nice to try both sides. didnt like the mp40 though and didnt want to shell out to make a mp44 etc. gives players a nice option. maybe we'll see more bolt action figts now :)
